of pizza clown patrol piled one by
two from their tiny car, clad in rags
and tapestries rich in paisley anchovies,
pepperonies sliced in spirals and red
peppers carved, carefully, to the shape
of a lion-tamer being gobbled whole,
cape dangling like the gooey dough
boxed in outstretched delivery paws.
